Family-Owned Wallpaper Removal in Lincoln, NE
The Paper Puller, Inc. is a small, family-owned business with humble beginnings. Founded in 1992 by Dominic Marino, we've grown into a well-known and trusted name for wallpaper removal and wall preparation in Lincoln, Nebraska, and the surrounding areas.
Before starting The Paper Puller, Dominic worked for the Cleaning Connection. One day, while working in a flooded house and removing water-damaged walls, carpet, and furniture, the homeowner decided it was time to update the rest of the house and asked them to remove the wallpaper.
Dominic had experience removing wallpaper from his time living in California, so he was happy to tackle the job. That project sparked the idea to start his own wallpaper removal business.
Armed with some business cards and a couple of realtor referrals, Dominic got to work building The Paper Puller into the business it is today. Over the years, we've removed wallpaper and repaired walls and ceilings in thousands of homes, built relationships with hundreds of local businesses and realtors, and made dozens of friends along the way.
Of course, Dominic didn't do it all on his own. His family was there to help through the busy times and the hard work of those early years. His wife, Sandy, and son, Antonio, both worked part-time on jobs before moving into their roles with the company.
Today, Antonio handles wallpaper removal, wall preparation, lead-based paint safety, and day-to-day operations. Sandy takes care of the office work and finances.
As Dominic looks forward to spending more time riding his motorcycle and enjoying life, he's been preparing Antonio to take over the business and continue The Paper Puller's tradition of pride and excellence in every job.

Dominic Marino | Founder & President
Dominic Marino, founder and president of The Paper Puller, Inc., was born in Sicily and served one year in the Italian Army. While serving his country, he met his wife, Sandy, who was a storekeeper in the U.S. Navy.
After they married, Dominic moved to the United States with Sandy while she continued her military career. Dominic had worked a variety of jobs from a young age, always finding work wherever the Navy took them. That work ethic stayed with him over the years and was passed on to their two children.
When Dominic and his family settled in Lincoln, Nebraska, he started The Paper Puller. What began with a few business cards and a couple of referrals has grown into a trusted local business specializing in wallpaper removal and wall preparation.
When he's not pulling paper, Dominic enjoys riding his motorcycle and spending time with his granddaughter.
Sandy Marino | Secretary & Treasurer
Originally from Iowa, Sandy Marino joined the U.S. Navy after high school and traveled the world during more than 20 years of service. While stationed in Italy, she met Dominic, who was working as a truck driver for the Italian Army. They married and eventually transferred back to the United States.
Sandy continued her military career in Lincoln, Nebraska. While stationed with the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, she continued working toward her degree in Family Sciences.
After retiring from the Navy and graduating from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, Sandy worked a couple of jobs before finding her place at Fresh Start Home. Today, she splits her time between Fresh Start, The Paper Puller, family time with her granddaughter, volunteering, and traveling.
At The Paper Puller, Sandy handles the office work and finances, helping keep the business running smoothly behind the scenes.
Antonio Marino | Marketing & Operations Manager
Antonio Marino, son of Dominic and Sandy, has worked full-time at The Paper Puller since 2003. After graduating from Lincoln Northeast High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he worked his way up to the rank of corporal.
Antonio later graduated from Southeast Community College with a degree in marketing, which he puts to use every day. His responsibilities include scheduling, estimates, marketing, wallpaper removal, wall preparation, and overall company operations.
With hands-on experience in the business and a background in marketing and operations, Antonio helps keep projects moving while maintaining the personal customer experience The Paper Puller is known for.
Outside of work, Antonio enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and staying involved with the Nebraska Marine Corps League. He's looking forward to growing the company while continuing the family tradition of pride, quality work, and personal service.
